Police and Auckland Rugby are investigating an incident during a high school match where a referee was reportedly injured

It took place on the grounds of Tangaroa College - the south Auckland school played Auckland Grammar in a second grade 2B semifinal.

Auckland Rugby says they're aware of an alleged incident at the end of the match.

They say they're waiting on a report from the match official, and they'll investigate in due course.

St John says they were called to the scene but were not required.
