The Herald's Open Justice reports primary school teacher Michael Andrew Hughes will be sent back to New Zealand as a 501 deportee.

The 58-year-old's visa was subject to mandatory cancellation, after he was convicted and subsequently imprisoned in Western Australia for "indecent dealing with a child under 13".

    He's denied the offending.
