Virgin Australia plans to make about a third of its workforce redundant

Virgin Australia plans to make about a third of its workforce redundant

New owners Bain Capital says it'll axe close on three-thousand jobs - and cull Tiger-air.

But, the company will retain its air operator certificate so it could revive a low-cost carrier when domestic travel recovers.

The airline will also suspend long-haul international travel.
