New changes to rental laws hope to support victims of family violence

New changes to rental laws hope to support victims of family violence

A tenancy can now be ended with two days' notice, if evidence of family violence is provided with their notice - such as a Protection Order from the Family Court.

Womens Refuge chief executive Ang Jury says these changes will ensure people have a better chance of getting out of a dangerous situation.

She says for a lot of victims they need to go quickly, without the worry of debt because they haven't given a month's notice, so this will be very helpful.
