Metlink has spoken about its handling of the public transport system during sporting events in Wellington

Metlink has spoken about its handling of the public transport system during sporting events in Wellington

Metlink previously said trains would run on 'as many lines as possible' for the Hurricanes super rugby pacific semi final - before eventually confirming trains for the match.

Buses replaced trains on the final regular-season phoenix game, at the end of April, before the semi-final which DID have trains.

Metlink Operations Manager Matthew Lear says they work with KiwiRail to make the train tracks available for big events.
