Hawke's Bay principals believe cutting bus services is tough on students

Hawke's Bay principals believe cutting bus services is tough on students

The Education Ministry's cutting the Clive school bus - saying public bus routes are sufficient.

They take 30-to-45 minutes, and the school bus takes 10-15.

Havelock North Intermediate Principal, Nigel Messervy says students wouldn't get back to Clive until about 5pm, which is a long day for them.

He says in some cases children then walk to homes a couple of kilometres away.
