A dog that was missing in a multi-home blaze in Lyttelton has been found alive and well

A dog that was missing in a multi-home blaze in Lyttelton has been found alive and well

Fire and Emergency were called to Brittan Terrace after a fire had engulfed two homes and partly affected a third at around 5.15pm yesterday.

While all people were accounted for, one home owner was seen outside his burning property worried his St Bernard dog was still inside.

A Fire and Emergency spokesperson says the dog was found on the property.

They say crews will remain on site and the cause of the blaze is still unknown.
