A plea for more money to fund the training of assistance dogs

A plea for more money to fund the training of assistance dogs

Mobility Dogs New Zealand is looking for people to take part in its annual "Dogtober" fundraising campaign.

People can take on weekly challenges, like teaching their dog new tricks, taking part in group activities like dog yoga, or activities for people who don't have a dog.

Mobility Dogs Fundraising Manager Toni Durant says the money raised will be crucial for covering costs.

She says there's a big difference between the number of people who need mobility dogs, and the number of mobility dogs available.
