Another house fire in Auckland today - with neighbours of a property on Massey's Colwill Road woken by explosions about 5.30am

Another house fire in Auckland today - with neighbours of a property on Massey's Colwill Road woken by explosions about 5.30am

Police were conducting enquiries - when fire broke out at a west Auckland property of interest.

Fire crews were already near, when the house reportedly exploded.

Herald reporter Jaime Lyth says locals heard dogs barking, and described flames leaping into the air.

She says the house has been completely blackened out and badly damaged.

A person was taken to hospital in a moderate condition, after a dog bite.
