British Airways has agreed to suspend 28-thousand workers on 80 percent pay due to the coronavirus crisis

The UK's Unite union has reached an agreement with the airline about how workers will be protected.

The government and British Airways will pitch in to make sure all employees earn 80 percent of their salaries.

Unite and British Airways have agreed there'll be no unpaid temporary lay-offs and no redundancies during this period.

British Airways union members still have to approve the deal.
