A barber fined 48-thousand dollars for failing to comply with vaccine mandates is now refusing to pay up

A barber fined 48-thousand dollars for failing to comply with vaccine mandates is now refusing to pay up

Ants Haines - owner of My Barber on Rotorua's Hinemoa Street - was fined in January, February and March.

Each time he was issued two fines, for not checking vaccine passes and not displaying a vaccine pass sign.

Haines had his own sign that read "no vaccine pass required".

From Tuesday April 5, the passes will no longer be mandated.

Haines says he's been made to feel like the virus, and is prepared to go to court over the fines.
