Margot Robbie is taking a break from social media

The ‘Birds of Prey’ star took to Instagram on Sunday (13.06.21) to post a picture of herself and some friends celebrating the success of ‘Pretty Young Woman’ – which was produced by her production company, LuckyChap Entertainment – and used the caption to reveal she will be stepping back from her social media platforms for the time being

She wrote: “Jumping off social media for the time being - check out @luckychapentertainment if you’re interested in what we’re up to, otherwise ciao for now! (sic)”

Margot didn’t state why she’s taking a social media break, but the star isn’t a frequent poster online and regularly takes weeks or even months away from updating her fans on her life.

The 30-year-old actress also doesn’t like sharing too many details about her private life, and once said she “strives” to be like Cate Blanchett, who also keeps her life out of the spotlight as much as possible.

She said in 2014: “There is not one person that I’ve looked at and thought, I want to be like them.

“But I like the choices Cate Blanchett has made. She’s not someone who’s always in the tabloids. Her personal life remains personal and that’s something I want to strive towards.”

Meanwhile, the actress also previously revealed she was warned about going into business with her husband, Tom Ackerley, with whom she set up LuckyChap in 2014.

Margot – who is also working with their then-flatmate Josey McNamara, as well as her childhood friend Sophia Kerr in the production company –

said: “To be honest, when we first started the company, a lot of people warned us against it and said, 'Business and friends do not mix. It always ends dirty.' We heard that a lot."

Despite the warnings, the group have found their personal relationship has made working together much easier.

Josey said: "But we have such a shorthand because we know each other and each other's taste so well, so it's just so seamless. And it also makes it enjoyable."

While Tom added: "Exactly, and we really try to promote that familial environment at the company, too. It's a hard thing to do, and I think we've succeeded."
