David Harbour "can be very critical" of 'Stranger Things'

The 49-year-old actor has starred on the hit Netflix show since 2016, and David has confessed to having some "very strong opinions" about the series

Looking forward to the final season of 'Stranger Things', David said on the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast: "I'm very close to the show, so I have very strong opinions. And they may not match yours if you're a fan of the show."

David admitted that he can actually get "very mad" if he doesn't like a particular episode.

He said: "I can be very critical of this show."

Despite this, David is convinced that fans will love the final episode of season five.

The actor shared: "The end of this episode when we were reading it - just us reading it - about halfway through, people started crying.

"Then about the last 20 minutes, it was just uncontrollably crying, waves of different people. Noah Schnapp being my favourite."

David acknowledged that 'Stranger Things' is especially meaningful to the likes of Noah, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin, as they have gone from childhood to adulthood during their time on the show.

He said: "I think part of that also is the fact that these kids, it was their childhood.

"Like, they started the show when they were 11 and 12, and here we are reading [the finale]."

Meanwhile, Maya Hawke previously revealed that filming the final season was a "heartbreaking" experience for her.

The 26-year-old actress - who has played the part of Robin Buckley on 'Stranger Things' since 2018 - admitted that the show means a lot to her.

Maya told PEOPLE: "It's the end of a really long journey. Longer for some of my castmates, even, than me. It's really sentimental."
