Heidi Montag has faced an "uphill battle" in the entertainment industry

The 38-year-old reality star released her second studio album, Heidiwood, in May, but she admits that she still faces a battle for credibility as a musician.

Asked how it feels to prove people wrong, Heidi told People: "It's tricky. It still feels like such an uphill battle.

"It's nice to have come into a different level of support and appreciation. I feel like it's still such an uphill battle ahead.

"There's so much still to be done and to fully cement it, if that makes sense - and not just have it be a moment and have it be more of a career."

Heidi and her husband Spencer Pratt are the driving forces behind her recent success.

And the Prototype hitmaker hopes she can eventually rebuild their family home - which was destroyed in the Los Angeles wildfires earlier this year - with the money raised by record sales.

She said: "We work so hard continuously, and between the two of us, especially without having teams.

"All these other pop stars have buildings of people who help them, and it really is just Spencer and I. It's a lot of pressure, and we just want to rebuild a house for my kids. I hope we can do that."

Heidi would love to work with a host of well-known female artists, including the likes of Zara Larsson and Addison Rae.

Asked who she'd like to work with on her next project, Heidi replied: "Zara, I would love to collab with her. KATSEYE, that'd be great. Maybe Doja Cat. Snow Wife. Slayyyter. Charli xcx - girl, call me, I'm fully available. I will come scream on your stage.

"Addison Rae, too. I love what Addison is doing for herself. It's really unique. It's cool. It is resonating. She's doing a really good job with her team, as well."

Heidi and Addison previously connected with each other over TikTok, and the blonde beauty would love to work with the Diet Pepsi hitmaker.

Heidi said: "Back in the day, Addison responded to us on TikTok, so, girl, don't forget us!"
