Julia Roberts says husband Danny Moder remains the greatest source of joy in her life after 23 years of marriage

The actress, 56, made the admission while speaking during an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the After the Hunt star was asked alongside her co-stars Andrew Garfield, Ayo Edebiri and Michael Stuhlbarg about the things that bring them joy.

Julia asked "In life?" about the question and paused before answering.

When Andrew replied the answer "changes all the time", Julia cut in: "Mine doesn't."

Pressed on what it was, she responded emphatically: "Danny Moder."

Andrew reacted by saying: "I knew you were going to say that!" as Ayo joined in with laughter - prompting Julia to add: "Never changes. Never changes! Sometimes more. Sometimes medium."

Julia and Danny, 56, married in July 2002 after meeting on the set of The Mexican in 2000.

Danny was working as cinematographer while Julia starred opposite Brad Pitt.

The couple have three children together - twins Hazel and Phinnaeus, born in November 2004, and Henry, who arrived in June 2007.

Julia has often spoken publicly about her family life.

In October 2022, she told CBS News Sunday Morning: "When I'm not working, (being a homemaker) is my full-time job.

"It isn't rainbows and kittens every day, but it does bring me a lot of joy.

"It's just never consumed me, being an actor. It is my dream come true, but it is not my only dream come true.

"The life that I have built with my husband (and) the life that we've built with our children, that's the best stuff. To come home at the end of the day, triumphantly, to them."

She also described the way she and Danny keep their connection alive when apart.

Julia said: "(Writing handwritten notes is) something Danny and I have always done.

"The first letter he ever wrote me, which was seven pages long, I still have it tucked away. One day, I'll show it to Hazel and say, 'That's what you're looking for'."
