George Clooney moved away from Hollywood to give his twins a "fair shake" at life

The 64-year-old actor is one of the biggest names in the movie industry, but he and his wife Amal moved their family to a farm in France to make sure twins Alexander and Ella, eight, could grow up out of the spotlight

He told Esquire magazine: "You know, we live on a farm in France. A good portion of my life growing up was on a farm, and as a kid I hated the whole idea of it.

"But now, for them, it's like-they're not on their iPads, you know? They have dinner with grown-ups and have to take their dishes in. They have a much better life.

"I was worried about raising our kids in LA, in the culture of Hollywood. I felt like they were never going to get a fair shake at life."

The Jay Kelly actor pointed out that the culture in France is very different to the US.

He added: "France - they kind of don't give a s*** about fame.

"I don't want them to be walking around worried about paparazzi. I don't want them being compared to somebody else's famous kids."

George doesn't use platforms like Instagram and Facebook, and he's worried about what will happen to his kids when they eventually get their own accounts.

He recently told Julia Roberts for 72 Magazine: "I don't know how to do it [use social media].

"I'm not on any of them, but only because I find that my life is so much simpler without doing it. But I worry about kids. I worry about my kids, obviously ...

"The risks are so much bigger and the consequences follow you for so much longer. I'm worried about my kids; we keep them off the internet as much as we can.

"But, you know, some of their homework is done on a computer. And they do like to watch a good Snoopy movie and things like that."
