A$AP Rocky and Rihanna plan to follow their family tradition in naming their next baby

The couple revealed earlier this week they are expecting their third child together, and now the 36-year-old rapper - whose real name is Rakim Mayers - has confirmed the tot will be given a moniker that begins with R, just like their other kids, RZA, two, and 22-month-old Riot

Rocky appeared on 'Late Night With Seth Meyers' on Wednesday (07.05.25) and the host congratulated him on the baby news before asking: "Your first two kids have 'R' names, obviously you and Rihanna have 'R' names.

"Is this a lock that the third will have an 'R' name, do you think?"

    Rocky confirmed: "For sure."

Elsewhere in the interview, the 'Fashion Killa' hitmaker revealed his beloved grandmother Cathy partied all night at his Met Gala afterparty because she was so keen to meet his fellow co-chair from the event, Colman Domingo.

He joked: "She was really ambitious about going because she wanted to meet her husband."

Rocky confirmed Cathy stayed the whole night because she "was waiting on her boo to show up," but the 'Sing Sing' star failed to attend so "she didn't get to meet him unfortunately."

Rihanna, 37, confirmed her pregnancy shortly before she arrived at the Met Gala by releasing a portrait by photographer Miles Diggs showing off her growing bump.

The 'Diamonds' hitmaker arrived late to Monday's (05.05.25) Met Gala, which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, wearing a Marc Jacobs outfit - a grey bustier and a floor-length black skirt - amid the spectacle's theme of "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style".

Although Rihanna rocked up after the floral carpet had ended, Rocky had arrived earlier in the evening and spoke to reporters about their baby news.

He told them: "It is time to just show the people what we were cooking up."

He also said: "Thank you, thank you, thank you.

"I'm glad everybody's happy for us because we're definitely happy."

Rihanna is no stranger to announcing a pregnancy on a worldwide stage.

The star confirmed she was pregnant with Riot during her performance at the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show.

Just days later, Rihanna admitted "everything changed" for the couple when they welcomed their first child into the world, but the birth of RZA made the pair "closer".

Speaking to British Vogue magazine in February 2023, she said: "We're best friends with a baby.

"We have to be on the same page, but we've always kind of had that in our relationship.

"Everything changes when you have a baby, but I wouldn't say it's done anything but made us closer."
