Hailee Steinfeld feels "more prepared for a newborn" as time goes on

The Sinners actress - who announced she is set to welcome her first child with her 29-year-old husband, NFL quarterback Josh Allen, in December 2025 - has given her fans an insight into how the pair are gearing up for the baby's arrival.

In the February 20 issue of her Beau Society newsletter, Hailee, 29, penned: "This week, I was sitting on the couch in my family room, and the reality that our little family is about to grow really started to settle in.

"Of course, I have all the to-do lists (which you know I love), and I've been busy with research and the general life reorganisation that happens when you're about to have a baby."

The Hawkeye star - who married Buffalo Bills star Josh in a garden ceremony at the luxurious San Ysidro ranch in Montecito, California, in May 2025 - dec lared deep self-reflection as the most meaningful part of her journey to motherhood.

Hailee - who got engaged to Josh during a clifftop proposal in Malibu, California, in November 2024 - explained: "But the most profound and grounding part of getting ready for this baby has been the introspective side of it: the quiet conversations I'm having with myself almost every day.

"Sometimes I find myself asking big, lofty questions (what am I going to be like as a mom?) or having vivid daydreams of what our life is about to look like when the three of us are cuddled up in the nursery together.

"While tuning in, I've experienced this surreal, full-body awareness that our world is about to expand in beautiful ways.

"We're getting ready to meet someone we already love so much. I've racked my brain for words to describe that feeling, and I don't have them yet. Maybe that's the point. For now, I'm blessed to be settling into the feeling."

Hailee has been getting used to her "nesting phase".

The Edge of Seventeen cast member continued: "Unsurprisingly, putting together a nursery has been a joy for me.

"I've gone back and forth on tiny details more than I care to admit (why is choosing a rocking chair this emotional?), but seeing it all slowly come together has made our new life feel more tangible.

"Emphasis on 'slowly' coming together - it's all still very much a work in progress."

And Hailee - who cannot wait to welcome her and Josh's child into the world - is thankful for the help and support she has received.

The Pitch Perfect 2 star added: "Between helpful texts, voice notes, and the passing 'you'll thank me later' advice, I'm starting to feel more prepared for a newborn.

"Plus, last weekend my mom threw the most beautiful baby shower at our home (more to come on that next week in MORE BS), which added to the 'this is really happening' feeling."
