Kiwi triathlete Tayler Reid's switching the road for the track as he looks to keep things fresh ahead of a big year centred around the Commonwealth Games

The 25 year old is racing in the 3000 metres at the Potts Classic in Hastings this afternoon.

Reid says it's a bit of a case of the unknown.

Reid's currently the second ranked male triathlete in the country behind Olympic bronze medallist Hayden Wilde.
