Lower Hutt's mayor is appalled by the use of a digger during a recent ram raid in Wainuiomata

A BP station was smashed into about 2.30am yesterday morning - using a vehicle from a nearby construction site.

Police say the building is now unstable, and are still on the lookout for the culprits.

Mayor Campbell Barry says it's shocking to see people commit these types of acts.
