A push for New Zealanders to get on board with new safety features in cars - to avoid costly collisions

A push for New Zealanders to get on board with new safety features in cars - to avoid costly collisions

A report by insurance company AMI shows it received more than 235-thousand vehicle claims - 60-percent of which were collisions.

However, it shows collisions have dropped steadily by 7-percent each year since 2023.

AMI's Dean MacGregor says things like safety sensors and cameras can help people to avoid collisions with concrete poles - and general scrapes and dents.
