The clean up continues in Central Otago ... as the region's swollen lakes recede

The clean up continues in Central Otago ... as the region's swollen lakes recede

District Council efforts are at full throttle in Queenstown and Wanaka - after last week's heavy rain flooded Lakes Wakatipu and Wanaka.

Council will move on to the Glenorchy, Kingston and Glendhu Bay foreshores next week.

They say they're keeping sandbags for now as a precaution.

But Council teams are working hard to make sure everything - including playgrounds - is open by Christmas.
