Wellington is celebrating both the Christmas spirit and Diwali this weekend

The Very Welly Christmas event will close off Lambton Quay both days with entertainment and activities along the street.

The Diwali Festival of Lights is also being celebrated on the waterfront tomorrow and end with a fireworks display.

Both events are expected to draw traffic and crowds so people are asked to expect delays or use public transport.
