Confidence that New Zealand's economy will weather the Delta outbreak

Confidence that New Zealand's economy will weather the Delta outbreak

Infometrics' latest economic forecast predicts household spend will be in catch up mode once restrictions ease.

Its chief forecaster says people have been saving money while living under tighter restrictions - that will be injected back into our economy.

Gareth Kiernan says ongoing Alert Level Three measures in the upper North Island are weighing heavily on some people and businesses.

But he says around the rest of the country at Level Two spending is still occurring and bouncing back much in the same way it did last year.
