One of the most decorated thoroughbreds in horse racing has been retired

One of the most decorated thoroughbreds in horse racing has been retired

The owners of mare Enable say she has run her last race and will soon begin a breeding career in the back paddock.

The six-year-old, who was ridden by Frankie Dettori, is the only horse to win the King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Ascot three times.

She also won the Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe twice and the Breeders' Cup Turf in the United States among 15 victories from 19 races.

Enable generated 21 million dollars in earnings - a record for a European-trained horse.
