The 43-year-old has been invited to compete in a 500-metre tribute to the country's most successful single sculler, Ondrej Synek .
The event also features Alan Campbell, Olaf Tufte , Iztok Cop and Lassi Karonen from the era, and will take place at the end of the regatta.
Drysdale says he'll be grateful just to stay in the boat, having spent minimal time preparing.
Tonight's action will include the women's pair, lightweight double sculls, coxless four and quadruple sculls.
The men's quad are also racing.
