New Zealanders dropped almost a hundred million dollars on Boxing Day sales this year...with Wellington and the Wairarapa spending the most

Despite the massive spend, sales overall were actually slightly down from last year -- but still up from the pre-Covid-19 levels of 2019.

Figures from Worldline - the company that launched Eftpos - also show spending pre-Christmas was up 6.9 percent from last year, with 5.2 billion dollars spent leading up to the holiday period.
