Australia's lost another cricketing son of the 1990s and 2000s

Australia's lost another cricketing son of the 1990s and 2000s

Andrew Symonds has died in a car crash at age 46 outside of Townsville.

His death follows that of his former teammate and TV commentary colleague Shane Warne just a couple of months ago.

Symonds was an integral part of the 2003 World Cup winning ODI side in a career spanning 198 one-dayers and 26 tests.

Scott McLaughlin's spun out while in the lead in the Grand Prix of Indianapolis in Indycar, eventually finishing 18th in a chaotic race.

The wet and wild race was reduced to a timed event due to heavy rain, with McLaughlin in a strong position before losing control while the safety car was out.

Fellow kiwi Scott Dixon overcame some struggles of his own to finish 10th.

    Colton Herta won the race.
