An Australian under-19 cricketer will return home early from the World Cup in South Africa after being scratched by a monkey

29 January 2020

Jake Fraser-McGurk was scratched on the face by a monkey at a nature reserve in Kimberley last week.

After consultation, it's been deemed necessary for him to return to Australia for precautionary treatment.

Fraser-McGurk says it serves him right for getting too close to the animal enclosure.

Australia was knocked out by India in the quarter-finals and now have classification games to finish.

New Zealand plays the West Indies tonight.
