Dwayne Rowsell and Leon Hayward have been selected for their first men's Black Sticks national hockey contracts

Dwayne Rowsell and Leon Hayward have been selected for their first men's Black Sticks national hockey contracts

Coach Darren Smith has announced his 25 contracted players to prepare for 2020 and the Olympics.

The naming of the squad comes hot on the heels of the confirmation of the Olympics pools.

Ninth ranked New Zealand will face world number one Australia, Argentina, India along with Spain and Japan in Pool A.

Smith says with no ranking points available from now until the Games, it was likely they were going to play those teams.
