    Quarter final result at women's hockey World Cup buoys the Black Sticks ahead of Commonwealth Games

    A quarter final result at this month's women's hockey World Cup has buoyed the Black Sticks ahead of their Commonwealth Games title defence in Birmingham


    Their campaign starts on Saturday night against minnows Kenya before before facing Australia, Scotland and South Africa.

    Coach Darren Smith says four players in the squad are returning from 2018.
