Former women's Black Sticks coach Mark Hager has compared himself to All Blacks coach Steve Hansen

Former women's Black Sticks coach Mark Hager has compared himself to All Blacks coach Steve Hansen

In an interview with London's Telegraph, the new Great Britain coach has launched a staunch defence of his methods, following allegations of a toxic environment he created in New Zealand.

In his first interview since, Hager says he wasn't prepared for the media scrutiny which came.

He says he now knows what it's like for some like Hansen or England counterpart Eddie Jones and professional football coaches who get scrutinised every day.
