    Blues coach Leon MacDonald's hailing his bench's impact in their opening victory over the Hurricanes in Super Rugby Aotearoa


    After trailing at the break, the Auckland franchise galloped away with three tries in the second half to secure the 31-16 win in Wellington.

    MacDonald says in a tight encounter it was exactly what they needed.



    The Blues are now top of the table, and have a bye next week.
