The Crusaders midfielder wrecked his left knee during last year's Super Rugby competition, including every member of the cruciate ligament family - ACL, MCL and PCL.
Goodhue returned for the Crusaders in April after a year out, doing enough to convince All Blacks selectors to pick him for the Ireland series, before he was hit by Covid last week.
He says it was a long road back to the black jersey.
