    Relief for snowboarder Cam Melville Ives - he's finished eighth in qualifying to advance to the final of the halfpipe at the Milan-Cortina Olympics


    The 19-year-old failed to improve on an 84.75 opening effort with his second and last run.

    That made for a nervous wait to see if he would make the top 12 to compete in Saturday morning's decider.

    Melville Ives has summed up his experience on Sky Sport.



    Australia's Scotty James recorded the best score of 94.
