After getting overlooked by the All Blacks selectors, Lachlan Boshier is heading offshore

The 26-year-old Chiefs flanker will head to Japan after this year's provincial campaign with Taranaki, signing a deal with Japanese Top League champions the Wild Knights, coached by Robbie Deans.

Boshier was one of the standout performers in the inaugural Super Rugby Aotearoa season last year.

Outgoing Chiefs assistant and Taranaki coach Neil Barnes says the selectors have a model of the player they want, and Boshier didn't fit it.
