    2008 champion Scott Dixon's still getting his head around how a rookie driver in a new team pulled off pole position for the Indy 500


    Having never driven in an oval track race - 25-year-old Israeli Robert Shwartzman stunned the motorsport world by qualifying fastest for Monday morning's race at The Brickyard.

    Dixon admits it a shock to see - given Shwartzman was no better than 28th fastest out of 34 drivers on the opening three days of practice.



    Dixon will start the best of the Kiwi drivers in fourth.
