Nico Porteous's coach is confident the Olympic champion freeskier will make a full recovery from his anterior cruciate ligament  injury

Nico Porteous's coach is confident the Olympic champion freeskier will make a full recovery from his anterior cruciate ligament injury

The 20 year old has undergone surgery to repair the damage to his knee after suffering a torn ACL last month.

Porteous won't ski again this year.

Coach Tommy Pyatt says it's a common injury for skiers and Porteous has the best treatment possible to aid his recovery at Snow Sports New Zealand.

It's hoped Porteous will return to competition at next year's Winter X-Games in Aspen.
