Nico Porteous has made up some ground on his competitors with victory at the freeski halfpipe World Cup at Mammoth Mountain in California

The 20-year-old New Zealander secured the win with a score of 97 on his second and final run, overtaking American David Wise for top spot.

Porteous moves up to third in the overall standings despite missing two of the four World Cups so far, due to a postive Covid-19 result last month.

Kiwi Zoi Sadowski-Synnott has finished second in the snowboard slopestyle finals.
