    A change to new equipment this season looks to have made an immediate impact for Kiwi alpine ski racer Alice Robinson


    The 20-year-old finished 14th at the opening World Cup Giant Slalom of the season in the US over the weekend.

    But she was just 1.4 seconds off the winner and clocked the third fastest time in the second run.

    Robinson switched from Volkl to Salomon skis in the offseason... co-coach Chris Knight says she had been showing encouraging speed in the build-up.



    Alice Robinson switches her attention to her first Downhill and Super G races of the season in Canada this weekend.
