The Wellington Phoenix women have been cruelly denied their maiden A-League football victory in their seventh match

The Wellington Phoenix women have been cruelly denied their maiden A-League football victory in their seventh match

It looked like history was to be created in Wollongong early on in their game against Brisbane, with Alyssa Whinham and Grace Jale both scoring within a space of five minutes.

The goals followed an impressive penalty save from Phoenix goalkeeper Lily Alfeld.

However, three straight goals have seen the Brisbane Roar come from behind to secure a 3-2 victory.
