The Phoenix men have broken a winless drought dating to January 20

The Phoenix men have broken a winless drought dating to January 20

They've beat Newcastle 2-1, after Wellington keeper Josh Oluwayemi thwarted a 97th minute header attempt by catching the ball between his legs.

Coach Giancarlo Italiano was impressed with their 2-nil halftime lead.

The Phoenix are 11th on the ladder with 24 points, nine outside the top-six.
