Aston Villa's home fans have been silenced as the club fights for a for a top-8 Champions League football spot in the final round robin matches

Aston Villa's home fans have been silenced as the club fights for a for a top-8 Champions League football spot in the final round robin matches

The hosts surged to a 2-nil lead after five minutes - tentatively seeing them scrape into the top-8.

But Celtic responded with two quick goals of their own, on DAZN .

It's 2-all at halftime - the current scoreline drops Aston Villa to 13th tentatively.

    Meanwhile...

Manchester City's down 1-nil to Club Brugge at the break - a score which would see them fail to advance.

Leaders Liverpool are down 3-2 at PSV - enough to remain top qualifier - while Arsenal's third for now with a 2-1 lead over Girona.

The top-8 advance directly to the next stage - the following 16 teams play-off for the remaining eight spots.
