Football Ferns midfielder Emma Pijnenburg wants to get on the ball and lead her new side, the Wellington Phoenix

She's signed a deal till the end of the A-League season, replacing the injured Alyssa Whinham .

Pijnenburg's coming off a three-year stint in Dutch football.

Her new coach Bev Priestman's pegged Pijnenburg as more of a defensive anchor, but the 21-year-old outlines her preferred style of play.

The Phoenix plan to announce a further women's signing early in 20-26.
