    MetService has issued short-term severe thunderstorm warning, for the North Island until 10.07


    In Auckland - residents are reporting heavy rain in many parts - with some saying waterways are up at similar levels to the Anniversary Day floods

    Warnings are in place for most of the Waikato including Hamilton, Matamata-Piako and Waipa.

    Waitomo, Taupo, Franklin, Ruapehu and Rotorua are also due to be hit.
