ACC is encouraging people to take care, as thousands more running injuries were reported in 2024 than the year before

There were more than 16-thousand running-related claims last year, costing over 15-million dollars.

It was up 3000 on 2023.

Injury prevention leader James Whitaker says the repetitive nature of running means there's a high chance of over-use type injuries.

He says good running is about consistency over time, so people should ease into and listen to their body.
