An importer has been hit with a 140-thousand dollar fine after selling small toy cars, that young children could choke on

Open Justice reports hundreds of the toys remain unaccounted for, despite a recall notice.

Gisborne wholesaler Allen Trading Company admitted five charges under fair trading laws - after it was found the wheels could easily come off.

It imported more than 14-hundred cars through a Chinese export agent in 2019 - and on-sold 12-hundred to 34 different retailers between August 2019 and June 2023.
