Police say a multi-agency approach is helping make deaths less common on our roads

Seven people have died in crashes over the summer holiday period.
Director of Road Policing, Superintendent Steve Greally says that is seven deaths, and seven families dealing with news they shouldn't have to deal with at this time of year.
He's told RNZ, NZTA, the Ministry of Transport, councils, educators and others all play a role in helping make our roads safer.
Greally says reducing road trauma involves a whole-of-system approach, involving multiple agencies.
