    Israel and US attack Iran live updates: Blasts heard in Tehran and explosions reported in cities across region

    Donald Trump has confirmed the United States is attacking Iran in a "massive and ongoing operation" and has warned there may be American casualties. Israel is also attacking Iran, with witnesses reporting blasts in the capital, Tehran.


    Israel and the United States are attacking Iran, with witnesses and state media reporting blasts across the capital, Tehran. 

    Israel's Defence Minister, Israel Katz, confirmed his country was carrying out strikes on Iran "to remove threats to the state of Israel".

    Donald Trump has confirmed the US is carrying out a "massive and ongoing" operation in Iran and has warned there may be American casualties. 

    International wires agencies are reporting explosions in several cities across the region amid a threatened Iranian response.
