Flight Centre New Zealand is adamant it will survive

The travel agency has announced it's laying off 160 more staff, mostly in retail, and 23 additional stores will close.

Six hundred people have already been made redundant or left voluntarily since the pandemic began.

Managing director David Coombes says it's heartbreaking to let go more staff.

But he says Flight Centre's stood strong in New Zealand for over 30 years and will be here for the next 30, too.
